SBI agents search Rolesville home in child porn probe
SBI agents searched a Rolesville home last week as part of an international child pornography investigation, according to a search warrant returned Thursday.
Posted — UpdatedThe case started in Australia, where federal authorities arrested a couple on charges of sexually abusing a 9-year-old boy.
Investigators said John and Sheryl Maguire sent explicit videos and images to people through Yahoo Instant Messenger, and authorities traced some online chats the couple had to 64-year-old John Kenneth Horne Jr.
The chats, in May and October of 2009, revolved around sexual fantasies involving children and included digital videos of young girls having sex, according to the search warrant.
SBI agents said Horne moved from Wake Forest to a home at 602 Redford Place Drive in Rolesville in March. Neighbors said he moved in with members of his family.
Based on the content of the chats, agents seized laptops, flash drives, cameras and webcams from the home during a July 9 search. There was no information in the search warrant as to whether any pornography was found.
A spokeswoman for the North Carolina Department of Justice said agents have also searched a home in Wake Forest and a home in Orange County as part of the investigation.
The SBI hasn't filed any criminal charges in the case.
