RALEIGH, N.C. — Sunday evening will be pleasant with temperatures in the 70s until after midnight and then falling into the 60s overnight. Monday morning will be mild to start off and you can expect partly cloudy skies.

Warmer and more humid weather follows with a few afternoon showers possible Monday. Highs will be in the mid-80s to low 90s.

A cold front later in the week could bring some spotty thundershowers and a chance of rain Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as the remnants of Tropical Depression Fay impact the state.

"The western part of the state could get anywhere from two to four inches of rain," WRAL meteorologist Kim Deaner said.

The Triangle could see the heaviest rain from Fay on Thursday.
