Hospitals Deliver Christmas Babies

Rex Hospital claimed the most babies born on Dec. 25, 2007, with 16 bundles of joy delivered, but WakeMed secured the honor of bringing the first Christmas baby into the Triangle – at two minutes past midnight.
Duke University Hospital staffers saw seven births on Christmas Day while Cape Fear Valley Medical Center reported six births. Durham Regional Hospital saw six births.
WakeMed delivered a total of nine babies.
