RALEIGH, N.C. — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night near Old Wake Forest and Litchford roads in Raleigh.

The crash involved a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Karl Edward Kost, 42, and a Porsche driven by David Bishop, 53. Kost was at fault for the crash, police said.

Kost, had his helmet on and secured when he lost control, hit the guardrail, and struck Bishop’s car head-on. Police said they believe Kost was speeding on Atlantic Avenue as he approached Old Wake Forest Road.

Bishop was traveling at the posted speed and was not seriously injured, police said.

WRAL interviewed Kost in April 2003. He had stopped to help a woman who lost control of her van on Highway 64 in Nash County and crashed into a guardrail.
