2 Arrested After Raleigh Robbery Spree
Two men armed with stolen handguns threatened five people along Capital Boulevard but made off with money from only two victims – for a take of $118.
Posted — UpdatedInvestigators believe Everette Grimes, 19, and Jordan Honeycutt, 22, used stolen handguns to rob five individuals all before 2 a.m.
Armed men approached the victims while they were walking in a parking lot or using an automated-teller machine along Capital Boulevard. The thieves managed to get money from only two of the victims – in the amounts of $18 and $100.
Later Saturday morning, an officer spotted a vehicle that fit the description given by the victims. Both Grimes and Honeycutt were inside the car, and police took them into custody.
The men admitted to police that they were the robbers, officials said.
Grimes and Honeycutt separately face two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of stolen goods. They were placed in the Wake County jail, each on a $300,000 bond.
