DURHAM, N.C. — Two 14-year-old Durham boys have been charged with felonies in connection with an assault on a 12-year-old girl at Neal Middle School, police said Tuesday.

The two, whose identities police did not release, now face charges of felony sexual offense, crimes against nature, and felony kidnapping. Police did not take them into custody because of their ages.

The girl told school officials and police on Oct. 8 that she had been attacked Oct. 1.

Police charged that the boys assaulted the girl in one of the school's gymnasiums after abducting her while she was walking to the school nurse's office shortly before classes were dismissed for the day.
