Search for Craven County Boy Ongoing

A missing Craven County boy may have been taken to the Charlotte area by his biological mother, investigators said. Officials said Kaleb Jordan Hardin is in imminent danger.

CRAVEN — Investigators believe a missing Craven County boy and his mother may be in the Charlotte area as they continued the search on Sunday.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued late Saturday afternoon for Kaleb Jordan Hardin, 7. The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons believes the child is in imminent danger.

Kaleb was thought to be traveling with his mother, Susan Janine Hardin, 34. Durham County authorities said Hardin went to a bus station in Durham on Oct. 18 to buy a ticket to Charlotte.

Kaleb is described as 3 feet, 5 inches tall and 70 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Hardin is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall and 170 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Kaleb was last seen at 610 Adams Creek Road in Harlowe on Oct. 6. Family members said they believe Kaleb and his mother hitchhiked to Charlotte.
