Henderson Police Search for 2 Men in Carjacking, Kidnapping

Two armed men were on the loose Sunday after commandeering a car and kidnapping a person early Sunday morning in Henderson, authorities said.

HENDERSON, N.C. — Two men considered armed and dangerous were on the loose Sunday after commandeering a car and kidnapping a person early Sunday morning in Henderson, authorities said.

Officials with the Vance County Sheriff's Office and Henderson emergency dispatch said they were notified of the incident around 4 a.m.

Two men carrying an AR-515 rifle and a semi-automatic handgun carjacked a 2002 burgundy Honda Santa Fe, officials said. They took the victim from Henderson to Durham and later returned the victim to Henderson.

Authorities did not release the victim's identity or give details about what his or her condition was.

Officials said one of the men was light-skinned and wearing a white shirt and black pants. The other man ws a dark-skinned black male wearing all black clothing. No other descriptions were available.
