ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A gunman killed one man and injured four others inside a nightclub in Rocky Mount early Sunday morning.

Doron Terrell Alston, 24, shot Benjamin Lane, 29, inside the Rocky City nightclub at 107 Marigold St., police said.

Officers said Alston used a small-caliber weapon in the murder, which occurred at around 2:15 a.m. Sunday. Alston also shot and injured four other people inside the club.

One victim, Angeletta Harrison, was airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital, police said. Dior Jaribo Parker was shot in the left hand, and Cedric Terrell Bullock was wounded in his left kneecap. Takia Sumter suffered a gunshot wound to her left elbow.

Rocky Mount police arrested Alston and charged him with first-degree murder.
