Reward Offered in Investigation of Fatal Armed Robbery
Raleigh police said a reward is being offered in the investigation into an armed robbery in which Charmeka Cheymeir Harris, 25, was killed.
Posted — UpdatedSeveral masked gunmen stormed into Apartment E at 4105 Spring Forest Road around 10 p.m. on Friday.
Charmeka Cheymeir Harris, 25, was shot in the stomach, officials said. She was taken to WakeMed, where she died.
The gunmen also took money and jewelry, police said.
Ten people, including five adults and five juveniles, were inside the apartment when the gunmen entered, but no one else was hurt in the shooting, police said.
“You just don’t know. That’s why you have to watch who’s going in and out of your house,” said Lashanda Brewington, a neighbor. “It’s very frightening."
Since the crime, investigators have gone in and out of the apartment complex. Fingerprint powder marked the door of Apartment E, and police blocked off several areas behind the apartment. They also taped off a nearby van and combed tall grass using K-9s to look for evidence.
Police have not released the name of the occupant of the apartment.
Police said a reward is being offered for anyone with information that materially assists the investigation.
