SCOTLAND NECK, N.C. — Police say a man who was arrested Tuesday for a double shooting in Scotland Neck is the son of a man involved in a similar crime in July.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Thaddeus Williams at around 12:30 p.m. in the shooting of two teenage men on Monday.

According to investigators, the shooting occurred at around 7:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Chestnut Street. Police said a fight occurred before the shooting.

The victims, whose names have not yet been released, were airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital. Their conditions are not yet known.

Williams is the son of 36-year-old Waddell Christopher Johnson, who was involved in a July 30 shooting. In that shooting, Mack Moody was killed and three others were wounded outside a Scotland Neck gas station.

According to police, it is not yet known whether the two crimes are related. Police are also investigating if there is a connection between the incidents and a July 8 altercation outside Joe's Day Cafe.
