OXFORD — Fire investigators still don'tknow what caused a Friday morning blaze that destroyed a Granville Countytobacco warehouse.

The fire started at around 9:00 a.m. at Yeargin's Warehouse on PennAvenue in downtown Oxford. Smoke could be seen for miles around as thebuilding burned to the ground. No one was hurt, but the building is acomplete loss.

There were 2,000 pounds of tobacco and some fertilizer inside the33-year-old warehouse. The warehouse's owner says that damages willexceed more than $500,000.
