RALEIGH — Workers at Raleigh's central prison arepreparing for a rare execution. Timothy Allen, a convicted cop killer,is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection on Friday.
Allen was convicted of killing Trooper Raymond Worley in 1985.He will be the 72nd person executed in the US this year, and the first inNorth Carolina since September 1995.
