TAYLORTOWN — A year-round elementary school in Moore County may be closer to having a name after tonight.
An advisory committee to the Moore County School Board is scheduled to discuss re-naming the school at tonight's meeting.
Residents of nearby Taylortown, also known as Taylorsville, want to name the elementary school after Robert L. Taylor, an African-American educator for whom the community is named. Taylor dedicated his life to children's education.
Other area residents want to see the school named Pinehurst, for the golf and resort community in Moore County.
