TAYLORTOWN — A year-round elementary school in MooreCounty may be closer to having a name after tonight.
An advisory committee to the Moore County School Board is scheduled todiscuss re-naming the school at tonight's meeting.
Residents of nearby Taylortown, also known as Taylorsville, want toname the elementary school after Robert L. Taylor, an African-Americaneducator for whom the community is named. Taylor dedicated his life tochildren's education.
Other area residents want to see the school named Pinehurst, for thegolf and resort community in Moore County.
