DURHAM — A Durham County family has reached a settlement in their "mailbox" lawsuit.
Eighteen-year old Jasmine Lockamy died last year after her car slammedinto a concrete mailbox support on Bahama Road. Her younger brother wasalso hurt.
The family claimed the mailbox support was a roadside hazard. Friday, they were awarded a minimum of $25,000 dollars. A separate wrongful deathlawsuit against the owner of the mailbox has been dismissed.
