RALEIGH — Some state employees had reason to celebrateat the Governor's Mansion Wednesday afternoon. Twenty-three of them arebeing honored with the Governor's Award for Excellence, the highest honora state employee can receive for service to North Carolina.
The recipients come from all areas of state government. A Committee forRecognition picked the winning employees from thousands of nominees.
Each honoree received a medallion and a cherry keepsake box. GovernorHunt created the awards in 1982.
