Fayetteville Man Shot to Death While Trying to Help

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville police are searching forsuspects in the murder of a man who apparently tried to be a goodSamaritan.

Investigators say 21-year-old John Kraus was doing yard work Monday when he spotted an attempted robbery and went to help. After realizing hewas in over his head, police said Kraus fled on foot, but was shot in theback as he ran along Spaulding Street.

Four or five suspects then sped off in an older model Bronco orExplorer. Police are searching for the suspects.
