One Brother Caught, One on the Lam After Fatal Shooting

WAKE FOREST — Wake Forest police are still searching Tuesday night for the second of two brothers accused of gunning down a25-year-old man on his grandmother's property.

Garvette Wilkerson died Tuesday afternoon after an altercation between18-year-old Eric Erskine and his 21-year-old brother, Arthur on 6th Streetin Wake Forest.

Witnesses say the brothers were part of a group of people loitering infront of Wilkeson's grandmother's home. Wilkerson they said, asked thegroup to leave, which apparently led to a dispute.

Police tell WRAL's Wisdom MartinEric Erskine was taken into custody after he ran from the scene onfoot. His brother, Arthur, apparently sped off in a green, 1992 HondaAccord. As of this report, he was still at large. The Honda he isbelieved to be driving has NC plates with the number "KRX-4444."

Eric Erskine remains in police custody. He has not yet been charged withthe crime. Investigators tell WRAL they believe Eric is the man who firedthe fatal shot Tuesday afternoon.
