— Authorities have charged the mother of a 14-year-old girl who drove a car that killed a three-year-old.

Cyntrelle Foushee died September 20th in Chapel Hill on the eve of her parents' wedding. Her parents, Cythnia Warren and Ira John Foushee, followed their daughter's wishes and were married the next day.

Police concluded the 14-year-old driver hit the gas instead of the brakes in the parking lot of the housing complex where she and Cyntrelle lived.

Police charged the mother, 39-year-old Yvette Johnson Mathews, with allowing a minor to drive without a license. She also is charged with aiding and abetting careless and reckless driving.

The 14-year-old girl's name was not released.
