<b>RALEIGH</b> — Police are trying to figure who left a beheadedgoat on the side of the road near the Raleigh-Cary border. Many localresidents are wondering if the killing is the work of some sort of cult.

Someone walking in the woods made the startling discovery Sundayafternoon. The walker came upon a burnt pile of feathers, apparently froma chicken, and vegetables strewn on the ground looking like some sort ofoffering. Also found in the same area was the body of a goat, headlesswith its feel tied together.

Greg Nixon and his family live near the site of the gruesome discovery.Nixon says it's something he's never heard about in the area. Hesays he wonders what kind of people are doing such things andalso wonders what they might do next.
