RALEIGH — Now that school's back in session all across the state, driving rules change for everyone.
Law officers in Wake County said they are keeping a close eye on school zones for the next couple of weeks. They said the summer is more than justa break for the kids, it's also a time when drivers forget the rules of the road near schools.
"It's dangerous when drivers don't pay attention," said Officer R.L. Munn,Raleigh police. "You can hit a child before you even know what you'vedone."
Officers said speeding is the biggest problem since the school zone speedlimits are only in effect a couple of hours a day.
