GOLD ROCK — There's a record drug bust to report in Nash County. Agents say they seized one of the biggest stashes of marijuana ever found in that part of the state.
Six-hundred stalks of illegal weed were found on the Halifax County border. The street value-- more than a million dollars. A spotter in a civil air patrol plane saw the plants and guided agents on the ground. Officers say it was a pretty sophisticated operation.
"They had an irrigation system creak in teh area which they were the plants watered," says Lt. Scott Parker. "We also found other supplies in the area they were utilizing to make it grow."
Drug agents plan to burn the pot at the local landfill.
