Several Groups Raising Funds for Fallen Detective's Family

RALEIGH — The murder of Raleigh Detective Paul Hale hasmany people looking for ways to help his family.

Thursday, G-105 and three other Triangle radio stations teamed up atNorth Hills Mall in Raleigh to raise money for the Hale Memorial Fund.People stopped by today to drop off donations. Money raised there will goto a scholarship fund for Hale's 7- and 10-year-old daughters. OfficerHale was shot and killed Friday during a shoot-out with a murder suspect.

And that was just one of several fund raisers held Thursday to honorDetective Hale.The First Citizens banks in Cameron Village and NorthRidge on Falls of Neuse, both in Raleigh, are collecting donations for theHale family until 7 p.m. Thursday. Those donations will also fund collegescholarships for Hale's daughters.
