BAHAMA — Two families escaped a house fire in Durham County early Sunday morning leaving both without a home.
Firefighters spent several hours trying to control the flames at the home on North Roxboro Road.
With help from a 9-year-old girl, emergency workers were able to communicate with the two families whom only spoke Spanish.
The American Red Cross is giving the families a place to stay for now.
