RALEIGH — If you use your cash card at an ATM that isn'towned by your bank probably you know the chances are good you'll pay a feefor the service. What you might not know is here in North Carolina we'repaying more fees than almost any other state.
In 1995, North Carolina banks collected more than $15 billion inbank fees. State lawmakers say those charges are out of control.
One measure considered by lawmakers would protect your from beingcharged twice for the same transaction when you use an ATM that's notowned by your bank.
