RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — High school grads need to take note. Computer giant IBM now wants yourfour-year high school transcript included in an application for a job.

IBM says a student's academic performance matters. In a new policy, thecompany plans to hire graduates who worked hard, not those who onlyscrimped by.

In the past, IBM only checked to see that an applicant received a diploma. Course grades were not checked.
