LUMBERTON — Police have new information on lastweek's double murder in Lumberton. While they still have no suspects ormotive, they believe they have determined the cause of death for bothvictims.
Police Chief Harry Dolan says former Saint Paul high school teacher SamBraswell and his housekeeper Elizabeth Baxley died after they were struckin the head while in their home last Wednesday.
Braswell was to appear in court Thursday to fight charges that he molesteda 9-year-old boy. Friends, neighbors and former co-workers say they don'tbelieve he was guilty of that crime.
Braswell and Baxley's charred bodies were found in his home.
