CHAPEL HILL — Is a doctor to blame for his patient'shomicidal outburst? That's what Wendell Williamson is saying.
Williamson is the former UNC law student who fatally shot two people1995 in Chapel Hill. He was found "not" guilty by reason of insanity.
Now Williamson is suing the psychiatrist who treated himbefore the shootings.
Williamson says his killing spree would never have happened if Dr.Myron Liptzin had made sure Williamson continued his treatment forparanoid schizophrenia.
Williamson stopped taking his medicine and didn't find another doctorafter Liptzin retired.
The shootings happened eight months later.
