DURHAM — A Durham police sergeant is accused of hittinghis 13-year-old son with a nightstick.
Sergeant Ron Hodge faces a misdemeanor child abuse charge. Durhamcounty sheriff's officials say Hodge lost control while spankinghis son May 4.
The boy was not seriously hurt.
