MORRISVILLE — Earlier than expected, repair work onDavis Drive between Morrisville-Carpenter Road and Morrisville Parkway hasbeen completed.
The heavily traveled road reopened Friday, five days ahead of schedule.
On Tuesday, a Department of Transportation engineer had condemned abridgespanning the overflow of Crabtree Creek, citing cracked wooden supports.Workers removed the bridge and replaced it with a culvert.
The stretch carries more than 11,000 cars daily. Drivers had beenrouted onto NC 54 east of the construction, which created snarls duringrush hour.
