WILSON — The good part about the tornado that toucheddown Saturday at Vinson Bynum Elementary School is that only threepeople were injured mildly. Seven classrooms were damaged, butadministrators have found a way around the problem and -- sorry, kids -- school will start on time Monday morning.
The tornado was part of a fierce but relatively brief band of stormsthat traveled across the state Saturday morning. About 300 adults wereattending a meeting of The Order of the Eastern Star when the tornadoarrived.
It tore the roof off the cafeteria, damaged classrooms and cars in theschool parking lot.
The students who normally occupy those classrooms will find trailersare ready for them Monday morning.
