CARRBORO — Some say making peace is a process bestundertaken one step at a time. The nationwide Peace Run got one stepcloser to its goal when runners passed through Carrboro Sunday.
The message behind the run is to bring peace to the world by startingwith individual cities and communities.
Barbara Hartley coordinated the effort for North Carolina. She sayspeace is not just something that happens when there's no war.
The Peace Run has been held every year since 1987 in 70 nations. Thisyear's run ends in New York City on August 16.
