GRAND FORKS, N.Dak. — You may recall that WRAL-TV5 sold copies of a video tape that showed coverage of Hurricane Fran to raise money for hurricane victims. Now, the remainder of that fund has been donated to flood victims in North Dakota.
WRAL-TV5's Bret Baier is in the devastated town of Grand Forks where presented a check for $5,000 to the elated Mayor Pat Owens.
She said it's the first relief money they've gotten, and that it will be used to start helping individual homeowners who were washed out by flood waters from the swollen Red River.
