RALEIGH — One of two suspects in a series of Raleigh burglaries turned himself in to police Friday. Authorities are still looking for the man they believe was his partner, a person they describe as dangerous and probably armed.
Franklin Langston Jr., 34, turned himself in to the Wake County Magistrate's Office, where he was served with three warrants charging him with burglary and obtaining property by false pretenses.
Boyd Johnston Hicks, 27, described as white, 6 feet tall and about 160 pounds, is still at large.
The pair is suspected of burglarizing six homes in the Country Club Hills area, and stealing more than $100,000 worth of jewelry, silver and guns. The break-ins were committed at midday, even in the presence of home security systems wailing.
Hicks' relatives have said he might have a weapon and that they expect he would resist arrest.
