BAILEY — One volunteer fire department in NashCounty is taking action to prevent fires like the one that killed a familyof five in Dunn last month.
Firefighters with the Bailey-Green Hornet Fire Department are on a questto have smoke detectors installed in every home in their district by theend of the summer.
Two local businesses are paying for the supplies. Firefighter Danny Taylorsays with their help, firefighters hope to get the devices to people whoneed them most.
The group is searching out families who need smoke detectors. Anyone whois interested can call the department office in Bailey.
