Police Impersonator Reported in Wayne County

GOLDSBORO — The Wayne County Sheriff's department iswarning drivers to be cautious -- there's a man in the area pretending tobe an officer.

Authorities say that on Friday a man driving a light-colored full-sizedsedan with blue lights in the grille pulled over another driver in easternWayne County, and then stabbed him.

The assailant is described as a black male, between the ages of 25 and35, weighing more than 200 pounds, and between 6'2" and 6'4" tall. At thetime, he was wearing a dark blue or black police uniform.

Authorities advise motorists that if they ever question an officer'sidentity to wait to pull off the road into a well-lit public area.
