WILSON — Three college students are behind bars, accusedof holding up a Wayne County convenience store.
Investigators say one of the men tried several times to shoot thestore's clerk, but failed because the gun was empty. He had apparentlyborrowed the weapon thinking itwasloaded.
Willie Sellers Jr., 19, a student at the College of the Albemarle, ischarged with robbery. Two other students, including one from St.Augustines College, are also charged in connection with the crime.
