LUMBERTON, N.C. — Two people, one of them a5-year-old child, are dead following an accident on Interstate 95 inRobeson County Thursday.
Troopers say a young couple and their son were traveling from NewJersey to Florida in a rental truck.
Investigators say the truck apparently struck the back of atractor-trailer, ran off the road, hit a stand of pine trees thenoverturned.
Meanwhile, Investigators are searching for the cause of a second deadlywreck here. The man who died was traveling on State Road 1757 when hispickup truck went off the road and struck a tree.
Jerry Godwin, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene at about 10 p.m.Thursday.
