— Johnston County authorities are searching for three men who allegedly kidnapped and raped a woman near the Red Hill community yesterday.

Sheriff's deputies said a woman was driving her car when three men riding in a truck forced her to stop her vehicle.

"One white male and one black male jumped out of the truck, got into her car, and made her drive down the road and the truck followed," said Det. Jason Barbour with the Johnston County sheriff's office. He said the vehicles came to a stop down a dirt road, where the men sexually assaulted her.

The suspects were driving a small silver truck with a burgundy roof.

One assailant was described as white with dark brown hair and a scar on the right side of his chin. The second was described as white, with longer hair and acne scars on his face. The third suspect was black, and described as heavy set.

Officials ask that anyone with information about the case call the Johnston County sheriff's office at 919-989-5000, or call CrimeStoppers at 919-934-TIPS. The latter number may also be dialed at 919-934-8477.
