Investigators Search for Leads in Littleton Murder

Posted December 19, 1996 12:00 a.m. EST

— It's been a frustrating day for investigators in Halifax County as they continue to search for leads in the death of a Littleton mother of three. There is no apparent motive no suspect and few clues in connection with Wednesday's killing of Patricia King.

Police say they believe King struggled with an intruder before she was shot in the back. Two of her sons found her Wednesday afternoon inside her home.

Halifax County Sheriff M. L. Stalllings says the entire community is in a state of shock.

King was very active in the community and taught Sunday school at her church. Reverend Mike Currin says King will be missed in the church.
