FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville police say they've cleared five armed robberies off the books from last year. Detectives have charged Connie Ray Barnes with holding up fast food restaurants and forcing the employees into walk-in coolers.
Barnes faces 20 counts of kidnapping for those crimes. He's been in the Cumberland County jail since August, when he was charged with shooting two people at a neighbor's home in Bonnie Doone.
