CARY — Attorneys for a Cary girl critically injuredin a pool drain wrapped up their case today. Valerie Lakey, 3-years-old atthe time, was seriously injured in the toddlers' pool at her neighborhoodswim club.
She nearly died when she was partially disemboweled by the suctioncreated in the drain. Her family is suing Sta-Rite, the company that makesthe drain, for at least $35 million.
Defense attorneys began presenting their case Tuesday. Court resumesWednesday.
