— A Cumberland County teenager is charged with bringing an assault rifle onto school grounds.

A deputy approached a suspicious car at Cape Fear High School Tuesday and spotted the semi-automatic rifle on the floor in the back of the car. The driver, 19-year-old Alphonza Teasley, was arrested.

Teasley is not a student at Cape Fear, but his girlfriend allegedly is.
