SMITHFIELD — It seems moonshine operations areendangered in North Carolina. Over the weekend, ALE agents seized morethan $33,000 worth of moonshine, mash and equipment in Johnston and HarnettCounties.
One of the first raids took place in Benson last October. It's all partof an ongoing effort to dry up the production of illegal liquor.
In the latest bust, agents destroyed seven stills and hundreds ofgallons of moonshine.
