— A pair of suspected carjackers in Harnett County have been arrested after wrecking a 1991 Honda.

Police say Robert Pettid (pictured at left) and another man used a threatened a Fort Bragg sodlier with a knife in order to steal his. Officers say Pettid, 19, was driving the stolen car when he lost control trying to pass a truck.

The car hit a tree off Highway 210 near the Anderson Creek community.

Pettid is now in custody. The other suspect was hospitalized.

Meanwhile, police in Raleigh have released the license number of a BMW 850-I that was carjacked Tuesday night. If you see the car with North Carolina license number JYD 5230, call Raleigh police at 890-3555.
