Another Carjacking Reported in Raleigh

Posted December 4, 1996 12:00 a.m. EST

— Police are warning people in Raleigh to be alert on area roadways following a carjacking Tuesday night.

This incident, the fourth this month in Raleigh, occurred at the Sparkling Clean carwash off of Highway 70 near Pleasant Valley Road, when a man put a gun to the head of a BMW owner and demanded the keys to the car.

Mike Kczmarek says he was vacuuming his car and was taken totally by surprise.

Police say there are some things you can do to lessen your chances of becoming a victim. Try to drive in well-lit areas, be aware of your surroundings when you're driving, especially at night, and cooperate if you are approached by a carjacker.
