RALEIGH — Investigators say human remains found in a soybean field Wednesday in southern Wake County may be tied to a car accident two months ago.
A farmer found skeletal remains in the field Wednesday night. They were found about 50 feet from the scene of a Sept. 20 car accident.
In that accident, a car stolen a day or so earlier from Raleigh flipped several times at a sharp curve in the road. By the time troopers arrived, one injured man had been transported to the hospital. They learned a second man had left the scene.
Authorities believe the remains found Wednesday may be those of a third man thrown from the car in the accident.
