Police believe an attacker suffocated Ryals with a pillow beforetaking her wallet and some jewelry. They have made no arrest and are stilllooking for clues. Ryals' son found his mother Friday night.
Neighbor Katherine Covell told WRAL TV5'sBret Baier that Ryals was popular in thecommunity.
Wayne Lee, who owns a nearby service station, says he is concernedabout the neighborhood.
Dunn police are looking for help from the community in order to solvethis crime. They're asking anyone who has any information on Ryals' deathto call Crimestoppers at 910-892-2222, or the Dunn Police Department at910-892-2399.
This is the second murder this year in Dunn.
