Raleigh Experiencing Rash of Carjackings

RALEIGH — Three carjackings have occurred in NorthRaleigh in the past week. All three took place in the area around Lynn and Ray Roads, and Raleigh police are looking for a trio of suspects.

Investigators say the group is targeting newer cars and typicallyconfronts victims at gunpoint.

The latest incident occurred Monday just before 2 a.m., whenone suspect approached a driver. A second suspect then joined the firstand a third followed in another vehicle. This, police say, is the systemused in all three incidents.

Raleigh police Sgt. C.A. Bryant saysvictims are being followed home by the suspects.

Police have descriptions of two of the suspects. Two of the cars wererecovered Monday in Durham.
