Tree Time at Farmer's Market

RALEIGH — Triangle area residents who can get to theState Farmer's Market in Raleigh by 4 p.m. today may find themselves theowners of new trees.

The Arbor Day committee is sponsoring a free tree distribution program.The tiny trees are easily loaded into the car and, again because they aresmall, they don't require a large hole for planting.

Among the trees available are white pine and blue spruce.

Hurricane Fran took many trees with her as she roared througheastern and central North Carolina. The Arbor Day project enableshomeowners to recoupsome of what was lost.

The Farmer's Market is on Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh. It isaccessible fromInterstate 40.
